Backup all of your data from Facebook with SocialSafe.com

by DemoPit on August 3, 2009

SocialSafe is a backup tool for Facebook. It allows you to connect to Facebook and download your photos, photos you are tagged in, friends and profile both for safekeeping and so you can view them offline.

Two key reasons SocialSafe exists.

  • Firstly, no web service is infallible; any of us could have our Facebook account hacked, deleted or simply lost. It is painful when you forget to save a file and something goes wrong. It is sickening when a hard drive fails and you frantically try to remember when you last backed up. Can you imagine what it would feel like to lose all your friends on Facebook? Can you name them all without looking? What about those photos you uploaded directly to Facebook, are they anywhere else?
  • Secondly, if you want to access to your account offline, and have all your photos on your computer for viewing, and so you can do what you want with them – with SocialSafe you can. No more laborious individual downloading of images and friends; with SocialSafe it downloads for you in next to no time (although if you have thousands of photos, the first time, it may take a little longer!). This aspect of SocialSafe will get more exciting in later versions.

The service is not free.  It will cost you $2.99 fee via a Paypal. SocialSafe will send you a license key and info on how to download and install the Adobe AIR (adobe AIR) desktop application.
