The Funambol iPhone sync client is free open source software that makes it easy to wirelessly migrate and sync contacts between your iPhone and older phones, as well as with webmail systems and email clients (such as Outlook and Thunderbird). It provides a great way to back up your iPhone contacts and to keep your contacts in sync, anytime, anywhere, without using a cable.
To migrate contacts from an older phone to an iPhone, follow these steps:
- Sign up for a free account on the myFUNAMBOL portal. Select your old phone. Follow the on-screen instructions. myFUNAMBOL is able to configure many phones over-the-air, eliminating a lot of typing on the device. This results in your old phone’s address book being synced to the portal.
- On your myFUNAMBOL home page, click “Change my phone”. Change your phone to the iPhone, follow the instructions to install the Funambol mobile sync client from the App Store, put your credentials into the client and sync.
