Hands-on look at the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G smartphone

by DemoPit on September 5, 2009

The myTouch 3G, the second Android phone in the U.S. market, is well suited for T-Mobile users who like the idea of owning a chic touchscreen phone with a good browser and plenty of apps. Designed by HTC, the $199 myTouch 3G ditches the T-Mobile G1’s physical QWERTY keyboard for a sleeker profile. Read on.

Key Features:

  • T-Mobile created the myTouch 3G with Google tools seamlessly integrated, unlike any other phone. Put a One-Touch Google Search widget right on your home screen for instant access to your favorite websites. This easy access to Google Search ensures you get the info you want at the speed you desire.
  • The myTouch is built for the speed of life. Shoot photos and video with the built-in 3.2MP camera. Share your photos on Picasa and videos on YouTube® with just one simple touch.
  • The myTouch 3G provides six hours of talk time and 600 hours standby out of the box, which means you can go a full day and night without recharging.
  • Save all your media on the 4GB microSD card—thousands of songs and hours and hours of video—then easily connect back to your PC to keep your media library up-to-date.
  • The myTouch 3G is optimized for email and music. It supports Gmail and all other POP3 email accounts. You can also download music wirelessly on the Amazon MP3 store to play on your phone, PC and most portable music players.

I prefer the last one with a full keyboard, because keyboard on screen is not that good specially if the phone is small
