Stream music, photos and videos from your phone with Skifta

by DemoPit on January 15, 2011

With Skifta you can stream music, photos and videos from your phone, the cloud, or remotely from home, to DLNA-compliant TV, stereo systems, PS3 game consoles or other connected devices in the home. Skifta makes it easy to take your media with you to enjoy on connected consumer electronics devices and mobile phones without the need for syncing or side loading.

Skifta uses open communications standards to talk to your connected devices. These are Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). When you buy a device with UPnP or DLNA, you can power it up, connect it to your home network and you have a connected device that Skifta can automatically communicate with – no additional setup required.

Skifta requires Android 2.2 to work. Most Android phones have this version of the operating system.

iMediaShare has an easier to use interface and more natural flows for selecting what to play and where. It is not restricted to 2.2+ and the best thing is that it doesn’t consume the battery power.
