Share the experience of watching TV together even if you can’t be in the same room with WatchParty

by DemoPit on January 31, 2011

WatchParty is bringing you the social TV experience you know and love, no matter where you and your friends are watching.

Here’s how it works:

  • WatchParty is a fun, easy way to interact with other people watching the same TV show. Simply search for the show you are watching, and click “Join”.
  • Once you are in a WatchParty, there are four features you can use to express yourself and communicate with other audience members:
  • Blips are 140-character micro-chats where you can type messages and comments, and where you can include action tags, called Flips.
  • Flips are short 25-character messages or actions you can create and click on to quickly express yourself in the Blipstream. When you create a Flip, all other participants in the WatchParty see it as a “New Flip” and can use it, too.
  • Traks are short polls that you can create to find out what other participants think about the show you’re watching. Everyone in the WatchParty will see the Trak and the results of the voting.
  • Slide your indicator between “Love it!” and “Hate it!” to express your opinion of the show at any given moment. WatchParty aggregates the opinions of all participants, and shows you the audience’s collective opinion.

Thanks for the post! We’d love for everyone to come to WatchParty to check out our service. We’re adding new features and functions almost every day, so tell us what you think and what you’d like us to add next!
